Selecting an Appropriate Home Heating System
When a Blaze Air technician shows up at your door or is helping you choose a new heating system, there are several factors that they will consider. Our people are thoroughly trained to run complex diagnostics that will determine the right system for your home or commercial space.
Forced air heating is one of the most popular distribution systems in the Piedmont Triad. Heat (and cool air in the summer) is distributed through your home via air ducts and registers and grilles. Improperly installed ductwork can transmit loud furnace noises. Furthermore, improperly serviced filters can circulate dust and odors throughout your home, compromising your family’s health. Our expert mechanics can troubleshoot your existing system and repair any faulty parts quickly and affordably.
New Furnace Installation and Replacement Efficiency
New gas, propane or oil furnaces can range in efficiency between 78% and 96% AFUE (annual fuel utilization efficiency). They generally fall into one of these three categories:
- New minimum efficiency furnaces have an AFUE of 78-80%. Compared with 60-70% for older furnaces
- Mid-efficiency furnaces work up to 83% AFUE for gas or propane, and up to 87% for oil
- High-efficiency gas condensing furnaces have amazing AFUEs of 90-96%
